Senior Java Developers (Senior Software Engineer)

Caro Systems (www.carosys.com) is a professional services company supplying full lifecycle consulting services to major corporations, primarily in Toronto, Canada but also throughout North America. Typically we undertake whole life-cycle projects but also supply key resources on major projects anywhere in the life-cycle. We are currently looking for some experienced Java resources with the right ability, attitude, adaptability and experience to succeed in a fast paced consulting environment.

• Senior Java programming roles on various projects supplying detailed design and hands on coding from specifications
• Design and manufacture of common code elements and mentorship in the use of common objects
• Provide leadership and mentoring to more Junior personnel in all facets of software engineering relating to the job.
• Work with project management to supply detailed and exact estimates

Qualifications

• 6+ years industry experience
• 6+ years solid hands on programming experience in Java
• 3+ years experience with Swing based application development.
• 4+ years strong object-oriented development background.
• Strong SQL skills, preferably with Oracle and SQL Server.
• Experience with Spring Framework
• Experience with RMI
• Experience with Web Services and  XML technologies
• Knowledge of Mule or similar technologies desirable
• Experience with multi-tiered applications
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with an attention to detail.
• Strong written and oral communications skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment and multi-task with little supervision.
• Extensive knowledge of the systems development life-cycle
• Experience with UML
• Consulting experience would be desirable
• Willingness to travel would be a definite plus
