Intermediate Java Developers (Intermediate Software Engineer)

Caro Systems (www.carosys.com) is a professional services company supplying full lifecycle consulting services to major corporations, primarily in Toronto, Canada but also throughout North America. Typically we undertake whole life-cycle projects but also supply key resources on major projects anywhere in the life-cycle. We seek to employ the most modern techniques with current methodologies and tools.

We are currently looking for some intermediate Java resources with the right ability, attitude, adaptability and experience to succeed in a fast paced consulting environment.

Responsibilities
  • Intermediate Java programming roles on various projects supplying hands on coding from specifications
  • Design and manufacture of common code elements and mentorship in the use of common objects
  • Provide leadership and mentoring of Junior personnel in all facets of software engineering relating to the job.
  • Work with project management and more senior Java resources to supply estimates

Qualifications

  • 3+ years industry experience
  • 3+ years solid hands on programming experience in Java
  • 1+ years experience with Swing based application development.
  • 2+ years strong object-oriented development background.
  • SQL skills, preferably with Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Experience with Spring Framework
  • Experience with RMI
  • Experience with Web Services and  XML technologies
  • Knowledge of Mule or similar technologies desirable
  • Experience with multi-tiered applications
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with an attention to detail.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment and multi-task with little supervision.
  • Knowledge of the systems development life-cycle
  • Some Experience with UML would be desirable
  • Consulting experience would be desirable
  • Willingness to travel would be a definite plus
