The Solution
An assessment of the current application portfolio and a high-level business model were developed in close consultation with senior management and all areas of the WarrenShepell organization. Based on the requirements of the WarrenShepell organization technology architecture recommendations were developed and various roadmap scenarios were described to implement it. The costs and risks associated with each approach were also described. This information was valuable input to the WarrenShepell organization in helping them make their technology and implemenation decisions.

• A conceptual framework of the application environment and the alignments with the business model

• Documentation of the business drivers that define the application needs

• Produced a roadmap to design, build, operationalize, and support the envisioned framework

The Challenge
WarrenShepell was in the early stages of developing a request for proposal (RFP) for submission to various vendors of employee assistance plan (EAP) systems. The organization was also re-thinking their business processes so that they could be more competitive in delivering the right level of care to their clients. To help achieve these goals Caro was engaged to provide mentorship in the Rational Unified Process (RUP) and use-case techniques. This knowledge helped the project team to engage with representatives from the WarrenShepell business community to develop a comprehensive set of requirements for the RFP. This lead to the successful selection of the vendors who could best address the needs of WarrenShepell.

• Provided guidance and mentoring in the Rational Unified Process (RUP) and related techniques

• Provided quality assurance oversight to ensure the quality of the project deliverables and adherence to the RUP methodology as it applied at WarrenShepell for a Case Management and Counsellor Management packaged solution RFP
